NOTICES:
Delegation from Mexico: On Friday morning at 9.00 a.m. we will be hosting a number of important delegates who
are visiting our school from Mexico including: Enrique Leano, Director of Education from Tomas de Jalisco School;
Jose Antonia Gloria Morales, Secretary of Education from the State of Jalisco; Gillian Tito from Department of
Internal Affairs and Bruno Aldaz, N.Z. Ministry of Education representative. They will be taking part in the signing
of a Sister School Agreement between CTMS and Tomas de Jalisco School. The CTMS students will be part of the
ceremony, singing songs and making the first links of friendship between the two schools. Both schools will be
linked up via Skpe and will be able to view each other! CTMS Board of Trustee members will be representing the
school community. An exciting event!
Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews: A reminder to parents that parent teacher interviews are scheduled for
the coming week. Please check your child’s Communication Book for interview times.
Learning Review: Many thanks to all our parents who have responded to our Learning Review.
Swimming: The senior group have begun their swimming programme and lessons at Sportswide Gym. This will take
place each Thursday for the next 3 weeks. They will need to bring togs, towel, goggles, swimming cap and a plastic
bag.
Winter Sports Tournament: These are scheduled for 9th of September (Yrs 5/6) and the 16th of September (Yrs
7/8). Murray has sent out individual notices to those children participating in this event.
BOT Meeting: Please note that our Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for Thursday 2 September at 5.30
p.m. The Agenda for this meeting is up on the school website.
Schoolgen Lead Team: Currently our Schoolgen lead team is working on promoting energy saving practices
throughout our school that will hopefully reduce our already diminishing electricity bill.
Farewell: This week we sadly farewell our Fullbright Scholar family Hillery, Dustin and Sawyer Hays who are
returning back home to the USA. We have really enjoyed having you as part of the CTMS community and hope you
return to N.Z. soon! Many thanks for your generous gift of new nets for our basketball hoops!
Parent helpers needed: The PTA are co-ordinating a group of parents to help tidy up some areas around the
school before the end of the term. We have a number of areas that we would appreciate some help with tidying up
and organising resources. Olga will be putting up a table of areas/jobs on the PTA noticeboard (outside Kauri).
Please put your name up on the board and Olga or Jenny will be in touch with you or you can contact Olga directly

Plastic Supermarket Bags: Please could families bring spare plastic bags into school and leave them in the art
room. We use these for recycling and as bin liners.
Swine Flu: As reported on TVNZ this week, the swine flu is expected to hit Wellington and the South Island over
the next couple of weeks. Please keep your children at home if they are at all unwell.
