Impuls and Momentum

1. Two particles A dan B of masses 4 grams and 6 grams respectively are traveling along the
same line when they collide. The velocity after collision are 5.2 m/s and 7.2 m/s
respectively and the coefficient of restitution between the particles is 0.5. Find their
initial velocities.

2. An object of mass 1.0 kg is moving to the right with speed of 40 m/s. the second object of
mass 2.0 kg is moving to the right also with the speed of 10 m/s. these two object make a
collision so that after collesion, the second object moves to the right with speed 25 m/s.
Calculate the coefficient of restitution in this collision.

3. Ball A and B masses of 1.0 kg and 1.5 kg. The two balls collide with each other and after
collision the become unified. The initial velocity of ball a was 54 m/s to the south and of
ball B was 36 m/s to the east. Calculate the final velocity of the unified balls.

4. A stationary object of mass 12 kg that hits by a 4.0 kg mass moving at 12 m/s. After the
collision, the bodies move as shown in figure below. Find the speeds of two bodies after
the collision?
V2f
V1i = 12 m/s
V2i = 0 m/s 30o
Before collision 60o After collision

5. Two cars A and B of mass 1200 kg and 1300 kg respectively collide at an intersection and
stick to each other as a result of the collision as shown in figure below. Find the speed of
A and B before collision.
