Introduction:

Good afternoon everyone! Today marks the commencement of our College Day
Celebration 2017. We are once again gathered for this annual festive event for
another purpose.

A quotation in a blog posted by Makeda Pennycooke says “create the

highest grandest vision possible for your life because you become what you
believe” by Oprah Winfrey.
This has great relevance to our celebration with the theme “Turning
visions into reality for a dynamic ISCOF community”. Behind this event are the
players and competitors who are armed with their skills and aflamed by their
desires to get the laurel of victory. Their ambition to become winners and their
dream to be famous athletes and performers are one of their high and great
visions in life. And these will serve as their guiding star to become what they are
aiming.
Likewise, our college, the Iloilo State College of Fisheries is envisioned as
a premier academic institution in Southeast Asia. This vision is what we are
complaisantly working to make it a reality. Currently, our institution is working
towards our universityhood, to become officially the Iloilo State University of
Science and Technology. College Day is one of the efforts aimed at this vision. It
showcases dynamism by serving as a venue in choosing the college best and
skillful students who are potentially competitive with students from the
universities in the region and in the country.
Sports and cultural competitions are one of the measures of our worth to
be called a leading higher education institution in the ASEAN region.
As what Bo Jackson, a famous baseball and football player advises us, we
must set our goals high and we must not stop ‘til we get there.

National Anthem and Prayer

To begin the ceremonies, I invite everyone to stand for the singing of the
Philippine National Anthem, with Prof. Heide L. Panistante conducting; and for a
moment of prayer to be led by Dr. Dominga C. Aghon, Dean of the College of
Education.

Words of Welcome

To start with, let us listen to our campus administrator, Dr. Regina P.

Clavel for her words of welcome. A round of applause please.

Thank you very much Mam for sharing your (warm, encouraging,
enthusiastic) words of welcome.

Presentation of Team Muses and Escorts

At this moment, let us have on stage Prof. Giefred Ian P. Paniza, CSSC
Adviser on behalf of Prof. Rosario D. Paracale to present the team muses and
escorts. A round of applause please.
Raising of Banners
At this point let us all witness the one of the most awaited part of this
program, the raising of banner of our college and of the five competing teams.
May I request our campus administrator to do the raising of the college banner
and the deans, team muses and escorts for the raising of their respective
school/college banner.
Now, let us have the raising of the college banner.
Thank you Dr. Clavel.

Next, the raising of college and school banners of the different teams.
They say that which banner reached the top first is most likely the team that will
win. Students let us do the countdown. At the count of 10, 9,….
Thank you very much to our deans and team muses and escorts.
After all, there’s an adage saying “it’s not the will to win that matters,
everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters” by Paul Bryant.

Presentation of Teams
Now, at this point, we will proceed to the introduction of each team with
their cheers and yells. To do this, we have here on stage Prof. Leo V. Bajador,
Coordinator of Sports and Related services. A round of applause please.
Thank you sir.
