This week long experiential learning programme, delivered the week immediately before the student’s core IC3 clinical clerkship, aims to
provide the student with the necessary skills to be successful in their clerkship. The programme aims to introduce the reflective practice concept
to students and a feed-forward approach is taken to ensure each student has self- directed learning plan for their clinical clerkships. Students
should possess a concept of the standard required to be successful at clerkship and compare their current level of performance with that standard.
Students are encouraged to engage in appropriate self-directed learning. Preparatory study incorporating stepwise methodologies and
instructional videos are provided prior to the course. Students are required to get their attendance card in their log book signed by a tutor at
each session.
