Objective

I am currently undertaking my Masters of Teaching Secondary degree at Western Sydney University; in doing so
I will be qualified in the following teaching areas – English, Modern History and Society and Culture. I intend to
conclude this degree June 2018. It is my objective to start casual teaching in order to build upon my
experience and gain further skills within the teaching profession. I am passionate about the teaching profession
and believe I would be a valuable asset to any school if given the opportunity and believe I could make a
difference. I am a confident and easy-going person who works well within a team and strives on a challenge,
however I am also very capable of working independently.

Experience

Professional Practice at St Mark’s Catholic College, Stanhope Gardens 25/April/2017 – 05/June/2017


My professional practice at St Mark’s Catholic College was for six weeks through my Masters of Teaching
Degree. The area in which my practice was focused was in HSIE and Modern History. During my time at St
Mark’s Catholic College I experienced and gained pedagogical knowledge in Project Based Learning and
teaching in open spaces, which I believe, has given me invaluable insight and experience.

High School Tutoring, Privately January 2016 – Present


I have independently over the past year and half privately tutored students in multiple different subject areas
such as English, Modern History, Ancient History and Society and Culture.

Store Manager, Jeanswest Rhodes Shopping Centre 22/November/2016 – 12/February/2017


Through my position as the Store Manager it was my responsibility to care for the store environment and my
staff members. I was in charge of staff rosters, banking, store maintenance, visual merchandising and stock
allocation.

Retail Team Member, Jeanswest Westpoint Shopping Centre 02/August/2013- Present

For the past four years I have been in charge of opening and closing the store, banking, visual merchandising
and making targets and budgets for the company. I have gained valuable experience through this position
such as working within a team, working independently and also the ability to interact with a variety of people.
Education

This course gave me vital background information into Sociology and psychology which has further enhance
and teaching degree.

Bachelor of Arts/Pathways to Teaching Secondary, Western Sydney University 2013-2016


My majors of History and Political Thought, English and Social and Cultural Analysis gave me the ability to study
closely and have an understanding of my now three teaching areas of Modern History, English and Society and
Culture.

Masters of Teaching Secondary, Western Sydney University 2016-2018

My Masters of teaching degree has given me knowledge and experience as a pre-service teacher. The
degree has allowed me to experience the teaching profession first hand and the units of study have given me
the tools to become an effective and well-rounded teacher.
