November 13, 2017 To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Tony Bolden for an Out-of-State Student Teaching Placement. I have had the privilege to work with Mr. Bolden in multiple settings over the past several years as his Level I Field Experience Coordinator at the University of Northern Iowa in 2015 and his Level 2 Field Experience mentor teacher at Hansen Elementary this year. Mr. Bolden is an engaged, motivated, and dedicated teacher education student, I have seen growth in his confidence, knowledge, and passion for physical education. ‘Through both of my positions at UNI and Hansen, I have experienced Mr. Bolden’s growth as a future teacher up close mentoring him in his Level 1 & 2 Field Experience. One of Mr. Bolden’s strengths in his Level 1 field experience was his energy and enthusiasm he brought every day to his students in Jesup, lowa. He connected very well with the students due to his outgoing and strong personality. He continued this strength in his Level 2 Field Experience with my students at Hansen Elementary. He is able to use this to his advantage to motivate and engage his students daily. Mr, Bolden demonstrated his passion and knowledge through planning and teaching multiple lessons in his Level 2 Experience to K-2™ grade students. He began taking over and teaching parts of the lesson very early on in his field experience, but his own two lessons were very strong. In addition to his demeanor with kids, Mr. Bolden is also very reflective. He was able to identify ways to modify the lessons to make them more effective for his following classes. He truly cares about performing and teaching to the best of his ability, so he craves that feedback to help him to become a successful educator. ‘As Mr. Bolden continues into student teaching, I am convinced he will continue to seek out the knowledge necessary for him to be a successful teacher. I believe Mr. Bolden would be an excellent candidate for an out-of-state student teaching placement. “Tn day Mel Shelley aoe K-6 Physical Education Teacher Hansen Elementary
