Bed diameter 7.

75 ft
Superficial Velocity 139.779 ft/min
Volumetric flow rate of feed 6594 ft3/min
Batch time 9hrs
ΔP/L 0.319 psia/ft
Height of Equilibrium Zone 18.059
Height of MTZ 2.575
Total Bed Height 20.635
ΔP 6.592 psia
Dessicant Weight 38,340 lbs
Total Dessicant Weight 43,800 lbs

The result is multiplied times the total bed height (LS + LMTZ) to get the total design pressure drop,
which should be 5-8 psi. This is important, because the operating pressure drop can increase to as much
as double the design value over three years. Too high a pressure drop plus the bed weight can crush the
sieve. If the design pressure drop exceeds 8 psi, the bed diameter should be increased and the sieve
amount and vessel dimensions recalculated.
