problems. These problems left my
daughter and me unable to
maintain our apartment. It was
very painful to swallow my pride
and ask for help. It was my
stubbornness that took me so long
to do so. Although I was checking
in again under different
circumstances I still felt like a
failure. I had forgotten that God is
always with me and will not leave.
Somewhere I left Him. Being in
church and Bible studies is
reminding me of that.
God has me where He wants me
which is a good thing for me.
In October I lost my job of four
years. That was a humbling and
painful experience but that’s okay.

Thanks to you and to other community members, much progress has been
made on Wagner Hall, our new Men’s facility!

Come celebrate this marvelous

achievement with us at our annual
banquet on Friday, April 16th, at 6
pm. It will be located at Parkway
Christian Center in the Multipurpose
room.

One of our residents living with us, Jorge, has an

18 year old son named of Martin. Martin lives
with his dad at the Men’s house and also attends
Grants Pass High School full time. Martin had a
history of disobedience, violence and selfishness.
Over the past few months while living with his
dad at the Mission, God has really done a
marvelous change in his heart. Proof of that can
be seen in his receiving the Student of the
Month award not once but twice, consecutively
during his first semester. Compared to failing
classes and getting into fights often, this is an
incredible achievement worked out by the Grace
of God!

 How the Lord has graced us with this
wonderful job at the Mission. To think the infrastructure in place to accommodate
that we have the opportunity of present-
ing a compassionate, saving Jesus Christ to
folks is … WOW! We want to thank you
for making it all possible because of your
groups of up to 30 students for a day or
prayers and financial support.

ever closer to having a staff that is able to
do this work well. I am abundantly thank-

The Second Chance Thrift Store has been in

the same location on the corner of 6th and J
St’s in Grants Pass, OR, for 21 years! Listed
below are some interesting facts about the
Thrift Store.
1. Each year the Lord continues to bless the
store with growth not only in the amount of
donations but also in the amount of monthly
sales!
2. Part of the reason for this growth might be
due to the fact that we are in the middle of
cleaning and remodeling the entire store!
With new racks, picture hangers and a
cleaner space the store is beginning to look
more professional.
3. Our main source for staffing is our resident
homes, but we also have community
volunteers and community service workers
who come in often to serve us.
4. Every penny that comes in goes to benefit
the Gospel Rescue Mission.
5. One of our goals every month is to donate
up to 20% of our furniture and clothing to
local people who cannot afford their own.
6. We offer gift certificates.
As of January 1st, 2010, Glen Sprigg is the new 7. We have tours available of the Store if you
