5.0 SAFETY
All work shall be carried out in compliance with the Cleveland Bridge Health and Safety Policy. Any changes of
site conditions, circumstances or site-specific safety concerns should be notified immediately to the Cleveland
Bridge Construction Manager or his/her appointed deputy. Confirmation of the issue must be delivered in
writing to the Senior Project Manager within 24 hours.
Cleveland Bridge has undertaken detailed Project Specific Risk Assessments for high-risk activities to minimise
risk and ensure a safe system of work is implemented. The detailed Risk Assessments can be found in
Appendix A.
All erection work shall be carried out in accordance with this Method Statement under the control at site of the
Construction Manager or his/her appointed deputy. Should any deviation from this Method Statement be
deemed necessary then work will cease until the Method Statement has been amended and approved by the
relevant authorities.
The Risk Assessments covering the work specified in the Method Statement will be incorporated in
appendices attached to the Method Statement. Further Risk Assessments may be carried out during the
course of the project and added to this document as a revision.
All site personnel will have gone through a site induction provided by the main contractor and will comply with
the site safety procedures. All operatives will be trained, competent and will have experience of similar
operations. All plant operators will hold current operating licences which will be available for inspection prior to
the work commencing.
