Q. What impact has the initial induction activities had on the development and content of
your Personal Development Programme (PDP)?

I have gauged via the depth and detail of the induction program, that to develop myself during
the course of the Engineering Management program I will need to be alert, read and
understand all material made available, and share and distribute knowledge with my peers,
where applicable. Time management and approach to the studies will be key in advancing
through each module in allocated timings, although it is my intention to surpass expectation.
If my career aspirations are to be realised, then clear and precise direction will be at the
forefront of my daily activities, and I think the detail visible in the induction in regard to the
following:

 Grammar – will need to be succinct for internal instructions and client

communication.
 Referencing – to give guidance and direction to others to where answers may lie.
 Structuring – so to give flow to an idea or argument, which may have legal
implications.
 Ethics – the difference between right and wrong especially working with a diverse
company and if in a position of seniority.
 Reflection – taking time out for serious thought, before, during or after decision
making.
