The load charts for the RT160 are net load charts. The deductions to these charts are: 1. The weight of hook block, slings and auxiliary lifting devices. Their weight must be subtracted from the listed rated lifting capacity to obtain the net load to be lifted. 2. When lifting over the lattice extension of the weight of any hook block, slings, and auxiliary lifting devices at the main boom head must be added to the load. 3, When the lattice extension is erected but unused, add three (3) times the weight of any hook block, slings, and auxiliary lifting devices at the extension head to the load. Outriggers must be in the fully extended position when lifting at the main boom head with the lattice extension erected, 4. Add 150 pounds to the chart values if the auxiliary boom head sheave is not erected. 5. All other deductions have been taken in the charts, ‘TEREX CRANES, INC. Modifications to the machine or use of optional equipment other than that specified ean result in 8 ‘Reduction of capacity. ‘Construction eguipnient can be hazardous if improperly operated or maintained, Operation and maintentnee of this machine shall be in ‘compliance withthe information inthe Operators, Parts and Safety Manuals supplied with this machine. If these manuals ate missing, ‘Order replacoments from the manufacturer theu your distributor. These warnings clo not constitute all ofthe operating conditions for the crane, The operator snd jobsite supervision must read the ‘OPERATORS MANUAL, CIMA SAFETY MANUAL. APPLICABLE, OSHA REGULATIONS, AND SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINFERS (ASME) SAFETY STANDARDS FOR CRANES. ‘This crane and its load ratings are in accordance with POWER CRANE & SHOVEL ASSOCIATION, STANDARD NO. 4 SAE CRANE LOAD STABILITY TEST CODE 1765A, SAE METHOD OP TEST FOR CRANE STRUCTURE 11063 AND APPLICABLE SAFETY CODE FOR CRANE, DERRICKS AND HOISTS, ‘ASME/ANSI B30. DEFINITIONS 1 2 LOAD RADIUS. The horizontal distance stom the axis of rotation ‘Before loading to the center ofthe vertical hoist ine or tackle with a Load applied. LOADED BOOM ANGLE: I isthe angle between the boom base Section and the horizontal, after lifting the rated 1oad tthe rated Radi. The boom angle before loading should be greater to account {or deflections. The loaded boom angle combined with boom length sive only an approximation ofthe operating radi. WORKING AREA- Areas measured in a cicular ate about the cen= {erline of rotation as shown in the diagram, FREELY SUSPENDED LOAD- Load hanging free with no direct External force applied except by the hoist one. SIDE LOAD- Horizontal fore applied to the lifted load either on the ground or inthe ar. NOLOAD STABILITY LIMIT- The stability Limit radius shown on the diagrams i the radius beyond wich its not permed to posi- tion the boom, when the koom angle is less than the minimum shown ‘nthe eppicable fond chart, becanse the machine can overturn with- coat any load, SET-UP L 2 ‘Crane load ratings ae bused on the crane being leveled and standing ‘8 ficm, uniform supporting srface. (Crane load ratings on outriggers are based on all outrigger beans Deing fully extended or inthe case of patil extension ratings ‘mechanically pinned inthe appropiate postion, and the tres free of the supporting surface. Crane load ratings on tires depend on appropriate inflation pressure and the tre coalitions. Caution must be exercised when increasing alt pressure in tres. Consult operator's manval for precautions. Use of its, latice-type boom extensions, our fourth section pullouts extended is not permitted for pick and cary operations. ‘Consult appropriate section of the Operator's and Service manual for more exact descriptions of hoist line reeving. ‘The wse of more parts of line than required by the load may result in having insufficient ope t alow the hook block to reach the ground Properly mainisined wire rope is essential for safe crane operation, Consult Operator's Manuals for proper maintenance and inspection requirements ‘When spin resistant wire rope is used, the allowable rope loading shall be the breaking strength divided by 5, unless otherwise specified by the wire rope manufactarer. OPERATION 13, ‘CRANE LOAD RATINGS MUST NOT BE EXCEEDED. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TIP THE CRANE TO DETERMINE ALLOWABLE. LOADS, ‘When ether radivs or boom length, or borh, are berween listed values, ‘The snaller of the two listed load ratings shall e used, Do not operate at longer radi than those listed on the applicable load rating chart (ross hatched areas shown on range diagrams) ‘The boom angles shown on the capecity chart give an approximation ofthe operating radius fora specitied boorn ength. The boom angle before loading , sould be greater to account for boom deflection, Tt ‘may be necessary to retract the boom if maximum boom angle is {nsoficlent io maintain rated radius, Power telescoping boom sections must bo extended equally. Rated loads include the weight of hook bloc, slings, and auxiliary i. ing devices. Their weights sll be subtracied from the sted rated load to obtain the net load that can be lifted, When lifting over the jb the weight of any hook block, sings, and auxiliary lifting devices atthe boom head must be aided to the loa, ‘When ibs are erected but unused add 2 times the weight of any Hook block, slings, and auxiliary lifting devices a the jib ead to the loads. Rated loads do not exceed 859% on outriggers or 25% on ties, ofthe tipping loads as determined by SAE Crane Stability Test Code 1765 * Rated loads for partially extended outrigger ae determined 20m ¢ Formula, Rated Load=(Tipping Load ~0.1 X Tip Resctiony/ 1.25. ‘Structural strength ratings in chact are indicated with an asterisk ® Rated loads are based on frely suspended loads. No attempy shall, bbe made to drag load horizontally onthe ground in any ditection ‘The user shall operate at reduced ratings to allow for adverse job conditions, such as soft or uneven ground, out of level conditions, Inj winds, sce loads, pendulum aetion, jerking or sodden stopping ‘of oad, hazardous conditions, experience of personnel, two mchine Tits, traveling with ioads, electie wires, ete, (ide pall on boom or id is hazardous) Derating ofthe cranes lifting eapacity is required when ‘wind speed exceeds 20-mph. The center of the lifted load mst never te allowed to move more than 3° f. off the center ine of the base ‘boom section due to effeis of wind, inertia, or bot. "Use 2 feet off the center line ofthe bese boom fora two section boom, 3 fet fora three section boom, or feet fora four section boom. ‘The maximum load that can be telescoped isnot definable, because of variations in loadings and erane maintenance, but itis Permissible to attempt retraction and extension if load ratings are not exceeded, Load ratings are dependent upon the crane being maintsined secord- ing to manofactarers specifications nis ecommended that load handling devices, including hooks, and hook blocks, be Kept eway from boom had at al times FOR TRUCK ONLY: 360 deg. capacities apply only to machines ‘equipped with front outrigger jack and all 5 outrigger jacks properly set. Ifthe font (5) outrigger jack is not propery st, the work arc is restricted tothe over side and over rear areas as shown on the crane ‘Working positions dinarem. Use the 360 deg. Load ratings inthe ‘overside work areas
