Dear Ms. Manley,

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to apply for a second-grade teaching position with Sparta
Elementary. It would be a true blessing to work for such an exemplary school district that truly
values its relationship with families, students, and the community. Given my drive to ensure that
each student is provided their best chance at success, I feel this position is the perfect fit for me.

In March of 2018 I received my Bachelor or Arts in Early Childhood Education from Ashford
University. The past two years I have spent as an in-home child caregiver. However, the three
years prior I spent as the lead teacher in a preschool program. My education and experience have
provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the everyday journey of
working with children and their parents to ensure them a successful future.

As a lead teacher in a preschool classroom, I was charged with ensuring that my classroom was a
comfortable and welcoming place for all students and adults. I was also in charge of ensuring
that all curriculum met state requirements/guidelines and was developmentally appropriate. I also
learned how to actively monitor development of my students to ensure no student was left
behind.
