REQUESTING FOR A GENERATOR FOR CHUNGA AREA MANAGEMENT UNIT

Reference is made to the above subject matter.

I wish to inform you that there is power crisis at Chunga Area Management Unit in that the
Generator which the facility has been depending on as a source of electricity broke down to an
extent that the main Generator block has developed a big crack and oil is leaking. We have tried
to do what we can by engaging an electrician to repair the Generator but we have realised that
it is just consuming more resources and very expensive for the unit.

It is in this view that my office wishes to request for a Generator that is not being used at
Chilanga to be given to Chunga Area Management Unit to replace the one which has developed
a problem.

The department may also wish to note that Chunga Area Management Unit is not yet connected
to the National Grid and the Rural Electrification Project is underway with only civil works having
been done so far. You may further wish to note that many wildlife officers in Chunga depends
on the Generator which helps in supplying water to many households as well as helping in
administrative works and communication at the office.

I would be very grateful if your office will help us to mitigate this crisis as the facility is in total
darkness.
