Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is a picture showing Iowa Core standards posted in my classroom. This
meets this standard because it clearly shows that I plan my instruction based on our
state standards. I like to post the standards we are working on in a place that is easily
visible to students. Students have a better understanding on what standards we are
working to meet. Also, it helps me keep my instruction aligned to the standards when I
can visibly see which standards I want to be covering.

Reflection on the artifact:

I really like having the standards posted in my room. I like having a visual to keep track
of which standards we have covered and which ones we still need to focus on. It is also
positive for my students. When students come into my classroom, they can see at a
glance what we are going to be learning about and what I expect them to be able to
know by the end of the year. Besides having the visual reminder of the standards, I
make a point to discuss the standards with my students at their level. Presenting the
standards in multiple formats for all of my learners is a key piece of what I do.
