MESSAGE FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR

I am very delighted to share that GTU is in the 10th year of its
establishment and many innovative steps have been taken in the
area of research initiatives, international collaborations, syllabus
designing, teaching pedagogy, evaluation pattern, etc. keeping
the stake holders in the centre. The innovative practices of
GTU have been adopted by many academic institutes/
universities of India and abroad.
GTU has also established 14 Post Graduate Research Centres
and Graduate School of Smart Cities Development to impart research activities in niche areas. GTU
has also established 3 PG Schools in the area of Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Management
from academic year 2017-18 onwards. Students of GTU affiliated institutes have also actively partici-
pated in social activities of NSS and NCC at national level.

The aim of education is not only to impart knowledge but also to create responsible citizens of the
country. It is always encouraging to know that all faculty members, students and GTU staff members
are leaving no stone unturned to make Gujarat Technological University a world class university. Gu-
jarat Technological University works on the Model of 3E to 3C through 3S. It has started its journey
from Enrolment, Examination and Evaluation (3E) to Communicate, Collaborate and Create (3C) an
environment of cohesive learning, creative thinking and global training for 360 degree development of
students. Student –Centric, Sustainable and Synergetic (3S) efforts will lead the desired results. I firmly
believe that GTU students are ready to serve the nation in the most desirable manner.

I believe that each institute which runs any technical program should provide a platform to students
where students may convert ‘Concepts into Reality’ and the benefit of the innovation and creativity
should pass on from ‘Institute to Industry’. The industry will grow in right direction only if the strong
bonding between educational institute and industry collaborations would take place and vice-a-versa. I
believe in mantra of “Together We Can, We should and We will”. So, jointly we can make the univer-
sity a great place of learning and in which we may take pride.

Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth

Vice Chancellor
Gujarat Technological University
