Hi! How are you? Hello! How do you do?
Long time no see! Nice to meet you!
Hello! How are you doing? Pleased to meet you!

*Introduction

Introduce yourself: Introduce someone else:

My name is ... May I introduce ...
I am ... Let me introduce you ...
I am from ... This is ...
I work for ... Please meet ...

*How are you? vs. How do you do?

How are you? This is an inquiry about the person's health, usually physical but mental/mood is included. It's
often just a ritual, a friendly greeting. Typical answers for this question are:
I am fine, thank you. And you?
I am ok, thanks. What about you?
How do you do? This is not a question. It is another, very formal way of saying "Hello." It is also very British.
We only really use it the first time we meet someone. The correct response is:
Pleased to meet you.
How do you do.

*Nice to meet you! vs. Nice to see you!

Nice to meet you! This phrase is used after meeting new people for the first time. Correct reply is:
Nice to meet you too.
Nice to see you! This phrase is used after meeting somebody you know. Correct reply is:
Nice to see you too. How are you?

*Asking for repetition * Asking for clarification

Could you repeat that one more time? Excuse me?
Repeat that, please. What did you mean?
Say it again, please. Can you explain that one more time?

*Saying thank you *Responding to thanking

Thank you very much! You are welcome!
Thanks a lot! That’s ok!
I really appreciate that.

*Apologizing
I am very sorry. I am sorry. I didn’t mean to ... Excuse me!
