May I invite everyone to please stand as we unify our hearts to thank

God for the gift of life and all the blessings He has bestowed on each
one of us.
Thank you, Ms. Joyce. To formally cement the partnership between the Department of Energy
represented by Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines represented by Ms.
Susan Locsin, let us all witness the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.

the most effective programs for young people provide sustained adult contact. Results indicate that
the most effective strategies for keeping young people in school are those that build bridges to the
world of work while young people are still in school. The most effective strategies were found to
combine a training component with strong links to the employer community, more formal training linked
to on-the-job training and work experience, and job search assistance and transitional wage subsidies
(HRDC June 1997).[5]

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines deserves a high degree of

appreciation for your support to our goal of expanding the knowledge
base of our students that they may face the real world with great
confidence and enthusiasm.

A pleasant afternoon to everyone, this is Joyce Cuy of the Consumer

Welfare and Promotion Office, welcoming the DOE Officials led by our
very own Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi and Officers from our partner
organization, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines led by its President, Ms.
Susan Locsin, GSP member students, Media friends, guests, ladies and
gentlemen.
We are gathered here today to witness another important milestone in
expanding the horizon of female students, particularly, members of the
Girl Scouts of the Philippines, with whom the DOE has chosen to
partner with, considering the mutuality in the agency’s and GSP’s goal
of empowering girls to become leaders especially in the energy sector,
the efficiency and effectiveness of sharing resources with the large
membership base, and of course, the strong foundation and length of
existence of GSP.

Behind this effort is our very own Secretary of the Department of

Energy. Ladies and gentlemen, let us all give a round of applause to
Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi for his message.

Thank you Sec. Cusi for that very informative message.

Now, let us hear from the President of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines
her Message on this partnership.

Thank you, Ms. Susan Locsin for your inspirational (?) message.

May I now call on, Ms. Helen B. Arias, Chief of the Consumer Welfare
and Promotion Office, for the forging of partnership between the DOE
and GSP.

(after signing and photo opportunity)

We now invite you to our video presentation on what has transpired

over the first one and a half years of the ENEReady and ENERkids under
the overarching program of E-Power Mo!
