BUWAN NG WIKA- LITERARY CONTEST GUIDELINES


Preschool, Primary, Intermediate, High School

Venue and Date of the Competition


The venue of the contest shall be at the SM City, Novaliches Atrium co – sponsored by Christian Family Center Foundation Inc, c/o
Ms. Onelia Borja. The contest shall be on August 22, 2015, Saturday.

Eligibility
All contestants must be bona fide students enrolled in the current school year 2015 – 2016 as Pre- School, Grade School or High
School. They must pre – register with the ISAAL Academic Coordinator Noli Calderon by submitting a Certificate of Enrollment of
the student representatives signed by the School Principal and/or Registrar at his email: nolical@gmail.com on or before August 8,
2015. Late submission of the COE forfeits the privilege to join the contest.

Fees
A registration fee of Php 500.00 per school must be paid on or before August 22, 2015 to the Treasurer, Ma’am Tess Briones of
Olive Grove School.

Contest Pieces

Contestants may have in their possession a copy of their own in the designated Holding Room. They may consult the copy of the
piece, until they exit the holding room in order to begin the contest, at which time the copy will be surrendered to the contest officials
who are monitoring the Holding Room. It is not acceptable to utilize or incorporate short phrases. (No adlib)

Regulations
1. A drawing of lots shall be held by the official in charge of the contest to determine the sequence in which the contestants will
appear.
2. The Program Host shall introduce the competitor as Contestant No. 1, Contestant No. 2, etc. not mentioning the school being
represented.
3. Contestants will stay inside the holding room and will be escorted out only during his/ her performance.
4. The Program Host will request the audience to refrain from applause until the Judges have made their decision.
5. The use of any type of electronic/digital data gathering, receiving and/or transmitting equipment in any form by contestants or
members of the audience is prohibited.
6. Judges’ scorecards will not be divulged to anyone at the site of the contest. All Contest judges’ scorecards become the property of
the ISAAL.
7. The judges’ decision is irrevocable and final. No appeal shall be entertained.

Judges
The judges are a very integral part of the contest. Their qualifications are considered carefully as the decision of the judges is final and
must be reached without bias. Impartial judging in all contests is the key to fairness and success of the program which results in the
selection of a winner.

Late comers will be allowed to join the contest; however they shall be given a deduction of 10% from their over-all rating.

Stage Presence (Gestures / Facial expression) 20%
