With the varying technologies in trailer lighting
changing it is becoming more and more difficult for
operators to ensure the Truck and Trailers operate
correctly and legally.
If you are fortunate enough to be operating Iveco Stralis
trucks then the trailer problem can be immediately addressed
by installing the ETI
(Electronic Trailer Interface).
The ETI is specifically designed to work with the Iveco Stralis
and cope with all types of electrical and lighting systems found
on trailers old and new, monitoring bulb failure for truck &
trailer configurations in line with legislation.
As all truck monitoring has historically been set out for
filament-type lamps, any operator running trailers with LED
lighting will have light failure monitoring problems unless an
ETI is fitted.
INSTALLATION
The Trailer interface is installed to the truck in the suzi
connecting area utilising specifically designed
bracket/metalwork for the specific model of truck ensuring
correct and uniform installation.An Electronic trailer interface
kit is supplied with everything required to carry out a full
installation. Installation is simple with no setting up required
once completed.
USER FRIENDLY CONTROLS
Located on the front of the ETI are three buttons.These are
reset buttons for +24volt supplementary supply (Pin 9) and
ground supplies (Pin 4 and Pin 13). If an overload occursm, the
associated circuit will illuminate to indicate this. Press the
reset button to turn the circuit back on.

Q: Some of my trailers have more lamps than usual, will
they work?
A: Install an ETI.All the light circuit outputs are greatly
increased
Q: As a contractor I collect trailers in varying conditions,
how can I be sure they won’t damage my truck
electrics/wiring?
A: Install an ETI.The ETI will cope with all conditions of
trailer electrics whilst creating a good electrical
environment for your truck.
Q: My trailers use power from the lights for other
purposes, this exceeds the lighting output of the truck,
how can I overcome this?
A: Install an ETI.The ETI will detect and cope with various
loads while not loading the truck outputs.
Q: My trailer uses the 24V supplementary supply, how can I
check this is protected?
A: Install an ETI.The ETI uses electronic overload
protection which acts faster than a fuse.Visual indication
of the 24V supplementary is given by the ETI.
Q: My custom trailers have lots of side lamps, these
overload the truck, what can I do?
A: Install an ETI.With an ETI fitted up to 70 standard side
lamps can effectively be illuminated – that’s a lot of
lights.
Q: My truck doesn’t see the trailer when it’s connected,
how can this be fixed?
A: Install an ETI.The likelihood is that the trailer lights or
wiring is non-standard; the ETI will deal with this and
communicate with the truck.
