Project Concept: Conventional Freezing to Grow Polar Ice

The two poles of earth, Antarctica and the Arctic, are natural freezers on planet earth absorbing warm currents and
significantly contributing to weather patterns. Recent melt downs of ice has caused changes in earth’s axis causing
movements in the location of earth’s poles. This phenomena is causing changes in climate and weather patterns
around the world.

The proposed system will use multiple probes immersed in the ocean close to existing ice caps and will freeze the water
around them forming new ice. These probes shall be 2m x 2m in cross section and approximately 10 meters deep. Each
of these pillars will contain a floating device at the centre and each face shall be refrigerated at full depth internally to
temperatures well below zero degrees Celsius, preferably -40, which will be confirmed during preliminary stages.

The sea water around these probes shall freeze instantly at the given probe surface temperature. Surrounding sea
water should crystallise soon after since ocean temperatures in these areas are close to freezing point. The freezer may
be powered by 12-24V solar power unit and suitable HFC type (R32, R134-a) refrigerant to be used.
