Glucometer Knowledge PI IV. Crisis Prevention Program The class is divided into two sections. One involves verbal de-escalation skills. It includes identifying an escalating situation/person, determining what level they are in and then using the appropriate intervention to help to de-escalate the situation. The second section involves some hands-on techniques (all non-violent in nature) to protect yourself if a patient grabs/holds onto you or they attempt to hit/kick you.
