Marawi Tragedy

Marawi is a place where Muslims dominate the area. But some people live there are also

Christians. This place was considered as one of the critical area in the Philippines in terms of war. Many

can’t believe about the tragic war and even some politicians can’t believe how it happened and how

maute group entered Marawi.

Marawi crisis started last May 2017 and lasted for 5 months which it was declared by President

Rodrigo Duterte last October 2017. The said war was so tragic even the people of Marawi can’t imagine

that it happened. President Duterte declared Martial Law on May 30, 2017. I can say that Martial Law

was a big help not just for the marawi people but also the safetyness of the people here in the

Philippines. Martial Law maybe positive to others but maybe negative to some. But whatever they

believe marawi crisis just ended although not that successfully but at least the leaders were killed and it

was a good fight between the Philippine Military and the maute group. Many civilians were killed and

even the soldiers who fought for our country offer their life just to eliminate those maute group.

Now that partly of marawi where already cleared and declared to be safe, some marawi people

came back to their homes and it was so sad to see their houses where pulverized because of the bullet

that hit their individual houses. Most of them cried because their investment were gone, they don’t

know how to start again. And as of the moment lots of donations were given to them and we are

encourage to help in any ways we can. Help for “BANGON MARAWI”.

Semestral Break

Semestral break is one of the most awaited days or even weeks for students. It is a break for

exams, quizzes and even assignments. Not just that but for not waking up early. Semestral break in

Sinayawan Central School started last October 23 and lasted until November 3, 2017. I enjoyed a lot

during the break because I attended the Regional Press conference last October 22-24, 2017 and it was

held at Liceo De Cagayan University. It was so fun because on the first day we had a parade and a short

program. Valencia City won as the best yells and we were so surprised and happy. On the 2nd day Oct.

23, 2017 I took the competition for copy reading and I felt so proud of it because I represent our School.

On the last day it was the Awarding moment, we did not attend that day because my parents has some

errands to do.

When the holiday came, we visited the cemetery at Valencia City last Oct. 31, 2017 and in the

afternoon we went to Manolo Fortich and visited my grandfather at the cemetery on the next day. And

on Nov. 2, 2017 we traveled going back home and I played with my friends, cousins and relatives. I had

fun playing with them and that is why I enjoyed my semestral break.
