Vapor- Density,viscosity,mol.wt,cp/cv,z-factor
two phase flow- densities and velocities for both liquid and vapor & surface tension
2.) Process requirements may take precedence over economical aspects (Eg. NPSH).
3.) In revamping projects of existing plants, fluid velocity is more likely to be increased than new plants.
2.) Hazen and Williams empirical formula to be applied, taking H&W friction factor C=100 for following
services
-Oxygen contained and chemically untreated water such as drlnking water, industrial water etc
3.) For compressible gas flow with high pressure drop, ad~abatic flow formula should be applied as
shown in Appendq- 1 A 1.4. (
4.) For gaslliquid two phase flow, HTFS method shodd be applied as shown in Appendix-2 A2 1 or HTFS
Handbook TM4 (Aug., 1984).
Use JGS 220-31 1-3-01E for JIS or JGS 220-3 11-3-03E for ANSI for pipe diameter when line
classification is available.
Minimum line size is DN3/4 except for instrument piping, auxiliary heating piping and pipe
connections.
