    Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire at a single-storey bungalow on Anemki Drive on the Fort William First Nation on February 6, 2018. Upon arrival, firefighters determined the fire was burning underneath the home within the crawl space. A second alarm was called, bringing 22 firefighters total to the scene with five pumpers, an aerial ladder, and a Platoon Chief. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze by advancing a hose line through the home and into the crawl space. The fire damage was contained to the lower level of the home within the crawl space, and there were no reported injuries to occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    Structural Fire Anemki Drive FWFN


    February 6, 2018

    On February 6, 2018 at 21:48 Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire in a single
    storey bungalow on the 100 block of Anemki Drive on the Fort William First Nation. First arriving units
    quickly determined that the fire was burning underneath the residence within a crawl space. A second
    alarm was initiated which brought the total compliment of fire fighters on the scene to twenty two.
    Five pumpers, an aerial ladder and a Platoon Chief responded to the incident. The blaze was quickly
    extinguished by advancing a single 45mm hand line through the residence and down into the crawl
    space. Fire damage was concentrated to the lower level of the home within the crawl space. There
    were no injuries to report to occupants or fire personnel. The cause of the fire is currently under
    investigation.
