I am currently in my second year of university at Writtle University College. I am studying BSc
(Hons) Animal Science. I hope to achieve an overall outcome of a 2.1 – 1 st in this degree to
be able to further my education and begin a masters degree.

Work Experience

July 2013
I worked for two weeks at the Church House Veterinary Surgery as a Vet assistant. This gave
me experience with the aspects of a working environment. I was able to improve on my
teamwork skills and it made me more confident in myself and in tasks I performed. It
enabled me to see a medicinal approach to animal husbandry, and introduced me to
different practises and procedures enacted on household pets.

August 2015 - Current

I am currently working at Pets At home as a store colleague. Here, I have not only learned
and understood the roles of working in retail, but also vital pet knowledge through the
training regimes laid in place through the company.

Additional Experience
 I volunteered at a holiday scheme called Holidays at Home where I assisted in
keeping the children safe while out on day trips over the course of two weeks. Here, I
was able to improve my self-confidence, and interact with strangers, which increased
my communication skills.
 I understudied a zoo keeper at Paradise Wildlife Park for a day in which I got to see
multiple different animals and how they are cared for and enriched.
 I have completed my Reader Leaders course, in which I helped year 8 students to
further develop their reading skills and become more involved in English and the
notion of reading.
 I was a Maths Leader, in which I helped year 7 students develop their maths skill and
become more comfortable with the subject.
 I was also a Language Leader, in which I helped students improve in their French.
 I have taken part in charity events, such as the sleep out for a Homeless Shelter.

My skills and strengths

I have excellent communication skills, along with listening skills, and I can effectively convey
information for those in need of my assistance.
I am very adaptive to any situation I'm put in, and I complete any given task to the best of
my abilities.
I am always punctual, good willed and I have a positive attitude.
I am extremely reliable and can be trusted.
I used to be a Girl Guide, which helped my team working skills, and shaped me to be more
open minded and comfortable with what I do.
I also belonged to a kayaking club for two years and gained my two-star award.
