EPAC is looking for you
Auditions for contest Saturday
Are you a singer, a mu-
sician, a dancer or a come-
dian? How about a magi-
cian, a juggler, a ventrilo-
quist or an actor? Maybe
you have some other
strange but cool way to
entertain people.
On Saturday, you can
audition at the Endicott
Performing Arts Center for
the first-ever EPAC’s Got
Talent for the chance to win
prizes from local sponsors.
The competition replaces
EPAC Idol, a similar fund-
raiser that ran for seven
years based on the televi-
sion singing competition
“American Idol.” With
EPAC’s Got Talent, though,
the possibilities for those
who want to enter are prac-
tically endless.
“EPAC covers the gamut
of performing arts, so we
have a lot of drummers,

guitarists, musicians and
actors,” said EPAC business
manager Joe Foti, who is
organizing the event.
“If an actor wanted to do
a monologue, we wouldn’t
turn it away. That’s talent
and it would be entertain-
ing. I would like to see some
dance groups. There’s also a
lot of comedians and magi-
cians in the area - I’d love to
tap into that.”
Auditions
EPAC’s Got Talent audi-
tions will be held at EPAC
from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Acts should prepare an
audition piece of under two
minutes as well as two com-
plete acts for the semifinal
and final rounds should
they move forward in the
competition. (The audition
piece can be a shortened
version of one of the two
complete acts.)
A CD / device player will
be available for dance acts.
Vocal acts will audition a
cappella.
All acts must be family
friendly and suitable for a
general audience.
Acts are responsible for
supplying their own cos-
tumes and props. Props and
costumes cannot be stored
at EPAC. No props can
leave a mess on the stage,
such as water or paint. The
use of fire is prohibited, and
smoking is not allowed.
All minors coming to the
audition, semifinal and final
performances should be
accompanied by their par-
ent or their legal guardian.
If anyone under 18 wants to
attend the audition without
their parent or legal guard-
ian must have supervision
of a third party (such as a
coach, family member or
friend) who is at least 21

Wednesday, Jan. 25, for all
semifinalists. Those per-
forming should bring back-
ing tracks (if needed) for
both semifinal and final
pieces.
Semifinals
The semifinal round will
be held at 8 p.m. Friday,
