What sort of person are you?

Student card

1 Work with your partner. Decide on a famous person that you think should win the ‘Person of the
Year Award’. Then prepare notes on who the person is, what they have achieved, and why you
think they should win the award.

2 Use your notes to prepare a presentation in support of your nominee for the ‘Person of the
Year Award’. Be prepared to make your presentation in front of a group. You will not be
working with your partner when you give your presentation.

3 Choose a ‘type of person’ card and do not show your card to other members of the group. Play
your role when discussing which nominee should get the award. For example, if you have the
‘chatterbox’ card, you should try to dominate the conversation and not stop talking. If you are
unsure, refer to the types of people described in exercises 10 and 11 on page 13 of the Student’s
Book.
