Communication Students Showcase Final Projects

REXBURG, Idaho — Communication students will be presenting their final projects at the

senior showcase Thursday, November 16 from 3:30 to 5:30 in the BYU-Idaho Center.

The theme of the communication senior showcase is The Places We’ll Go. 72

communication students have the opportunity to showcase their final projects to the public. Local

businesses are invited to come and look at the students work. If businesses like the projects, they

will hire students. Ward Hicks, a communication faculty member and committee member for the

senior showcase said, “This is a great opportunity for students to find great jobs in

communication. I have always been impressed by the quality of projects.”

Seniors are required to spend 50 quality hours on their project and meet with their faculty

mentor at least three times to make sure their project is progressing like it should be.

Delaina Scholes, office manager in the communication department and a committee

member for the senior showcase said, “There are a lot of students that don’t know what

communication is. They don’t know we do social media and advertising and public relations.

The showcase is a good place to show what communication is all about.”

The senior showcase happens in the 10th week of every semester. The event is open to the

public and communication students are encouraged to attend. The showcase will feature a map of

the world with strings connecting to Rexburg. Seniors can connect the string from Rexburg to

where they will be working after they graduate.
