Chapter 2

METHOD

This chapter consists of research design, research subject, research

instrument, data-gathering procedures and statistical treatment of the data.

Research Design

In order to obtain the needed information regarding the level of agritourism

preparedness in Tagum City, the researchers used the quantitative type of

research in this study. Quantitative methods emphasize objective measurements

and the statistical, mathematical, or numerical analysis of data collected

through polls, questionnaires, and surveys, or by means of manipulating pre-

existing statistical data using computational techniques. The purpose of using

quantitative research is to develop and employ mathematical

models, theories and hypotheses pertaining to phenomena (Babbie, Earl R.,

2010).

Research Locale

This study was conducted in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Region XI,

Philippines.

This study was conducted during the first semester of school year 2017-

2018. In order to get the number of respondents of this study, the researchers

used the random sampling technique. The method was used to ensure that the

required number of respondents would be attained…

Population and Sample

Research Instrument

The researchers-made questionnaire used in this study was conducted in

a form of checklist.

Data Gathering Procedure

In order to gather data for the research study, the following steps were

conducted: …

Statistical Treatment of the Data

The researchers used the following statistical treatment to find out the

level of agritourism preparedness in Tagum City as basis for tourism

development plan.

Percentage. This was used for the percentage distribution of the respondents.

Weighted mean. This was used to determine the level of agritourism

preparedness in Tagum City.

T-Test. This was used to determine the difference between the two group of

means. It is analyzed by gender.
