(Toronto, Ont., February 23, 2015) The Boys House treatment facility is being
relocated to a renovated house at 225 Main St. Etobicoke. The new Boys House is a
renovated one hundred-year-old home close to the lake. The facility offers live -n
treatment to eight boys, ages 12-16, who are experiencing emotional and
behavioural difficulties.
“It is the first residential treatment of its kind”, said Executive Director Jane Bray, “it
is designed specifically for mental health therapy.”
Boys with specific needs attend group treatment programs, which address issues
such as anger management, sexual orientation, substance abuse, sexual abuse etc.
All residents of the Boys House have access to the Centre’s School Program,
attending classes, working towards attainment of credits towards high school
graduation. Many Graduates of the program go on to community high schools, jobs
or post- secondary education, with improved family and friend relationships.

The new Boys house is located near the lake offering lakeshore trails that provide
positive therapeutic benefits. There are large windows allowing for natural light in
every room and space for a vegetable garden in the backyard.
“My team of designers worked together with therapists to ensure that the interior
design layout of the new home is the best fit for healing and care,” said lead designer
of the project and owner of Melnyk Interiors, Larissa Melnyk.
The George Hull Centre for Children and Families is a children’s mental health
Centre serving children from birth to age eighteen and their families with specific
