I have several years of engineering experience, in both design and construction

management roles.

I have been involved in designing several road projects. This has included using
CivilCad software to undertake the geometric and drainage design aspects and
design of the road pavement materials. I have provided my design calculations to
members of the drafting team to prepare design drawings of the road projects. I
was then responsible for checking the drawings to make sure that they matched my
calculations and the requirements of my clients’ briefs. I have used my engineering
knowledge of road design to prepare technical specifications that form part of the
contract documentation.

I have worked as the superintendent’s representative in overseeing the construction

of several civil works projects. A large part of this role involves interpreting the
design drawings and technical specifications to understand the construction
requirements of the project. I have been responsible for overseeing the
construction undertaken by the contractor to check that they are complying with the
drawings and specifications. This has involved physical inspection of the works. It
has also involved extensive analysis of field and laboratory test results undertaken
on the earthworks and pavements constructed on the road project. I have applied
my engineering knowledge, judgement and experience to interpret these field and
laboratory test results.
