V. Alternative Courses of Action

1. Job Analysis- A process to identify and determine in detail the particular job duties and
requirements and the relative importance of these duties for a given job, conducted to identify the
skills, work styles and other attributes needed for successful performance.
Advantage: Helps in Creating Right Job-Employee Fit: Job Analysis helps them understand what
type of employee will be suitable to deliver a specific job successfully.
Disadvantage: Involves Lots of Human Efforts: The process involves lots of human efforts. As every
job carries different information and there is no set pattern, customized information is to be collected for
different jobs. The process needs to be conducted separately for collecting and recording job-related
data.
2. Management Training- Activities and Courses that are intended to develop and improve the skills of
the managers in a company.
Advantage: increase productivity of all employees by motivating and educating managers.
Disadvantage:
3. Coaching- method your company can use to develop managers and leaders. This technique uses
other successful managers to train, advise and coach newer supervisors in order to gain knowledge of
both the company and management procedures.
Advantage: one-on-one training, which allows the trainee ample time to ask questions and receive
feedback on performance.
Disadvantage: the new manager receives coaching and advice from only other managers, not peers or
outside participants.
4. Employee Reward and Bonus program such as Employee of the Week or Month- individuals will
receive recognition via company newsletter and a plaque in addition to a cash bonus. This will ensure that
the manager is not the lone recipient of bonuses
Advantage: will motivate employees to work harder.
Disadvantage: competition will arise between employees because of the bonuses they will get.
