Subject: Nomination

I am humbled by my nomination. I have been able to combine two of my passions, nursing and
teaching. I believe that serious responsibility comes along with both nursing and teaching. I always try
to present a good attitude, not only teaching and expecting my students to listen; but for me to listen to
what my students are saying. I try to make teaching interesting and fun. I may not always agree with
the students opinions but I truly believe they have the right to express them as long as it is done in a
respectful manner.

I often collaborate with other members of the Continuing Education Department and have come to
respect and appreciate them, my supervisor, my fellow instructors and the office personal. I have
worked closely with Mr. Rick Segura and Mr. Arnold Jones to utilize all of our talents to benefit the
students. Dr. Stout has always been there any time I needed guidance and Resa Jones and JoeAnn
Nichols have helped me immensely with numerous tasks that has helped me stay organized and prepared
for my classes. I appreciate the teamwork we share within the Continuing Education Department.
Lastly I have worked closely with Dr. Stout and Brian Ayres to revamp some of our CPR criteria, supplies,
paperwork, etc. I believe some of the responsibilities that I have taken on overseeing the CPR program
paperwork required by the American Heart Association along with with acquiring new equipment we
desperately needed and receiving current instructor training has enhanced our CPR classes and has
enabled us to become a training site here at Galveston College.

Thank you so much for my consideration for this award.

Peggy O'Neal. L.V.N.
