All the connections (RF, GND, power supply...) are wired at the bottom
of the cabinet.
The connection of all the external cables is done in front lower side of
the nodeB. There are several paths to route the external cables.
The separation between low and high current cables is performed either
by different cable ways or, if the routing is in the same cable way, by
using partition separators, or by shielded cables connected to the
ground. Refer to Table 6 External Cable for MBO1 on page 14,
Figure 5 – Cable Tray
The earth plate is required on each site, all the site grounding circuits
must be connected to it:
• Cabinet grounding via a 35 mm² (2 AWG) ground copper cable,
Preliminary
• Antenna feeder grounding kits,
• Metallic conduits or cable trays
• Grounding cable from DC box distribution or others.
This earth plate is installed close to the cable entry of the BTS base
cabinets.
Feeders are used to establish the link between the cabinet (via TRDUs)
and the antennas or TMAs.
The feeder are connected to the BTS via the Jumper. The jumper are
connected to the cabinet at the bottom
The jumper cable length is limited to 2 metres, ended with a 7/16 female
connector.
The Cable used for the feeder should have a maximum attenuation of
6.99dB/100m at 2300Mhz. Couple connector losses = 0.2dBmax.
The cabinet must be placed so that following rules are respected (Highly
recommended):
• heat dissipation is optimized by placing the cabinet back facing south
for northern-hemisphere countries (the cabinet back should face north
for southern-hemisphere countries).
• rainfall effects are limited by placing the cabinet parallel to the
direction of dominant winds.
• in case of a high-wind area (typhoon...), the cabinet should be placed
in a protected zone.
Preliminary
MBO cabinets are designed in such a way that they may be installed
back to back or back to a wall and/or installing in rows. The cabinet has
no side doors, access and all cabling is only from front side.
These cables are available next to the NodeB, and are mechanically
protected in metallic cables trays. The metallic cable protection must be
grounded to the earth plate interface.
Preliminary
The connections are done at the bottom of the MBO1 NodeB. Refer to
Figure 7.

DC supply (0V, -48V, GND): DC input (0V and –48V wires) is located
on the left part of the cabinet. The distribution is designed to use a
terminal for 0V and -48V and 8 mm stud for electrical earth (earthing
point M8 lug). The maximum cable length is 18 m.
At the site power supply, one output is required per NodeB. Each
protection should be clearly identified.

All wires are connected to input screws terminal (using cable gland)
located at the bottom left side of the MBO cabinet, (max. cross section
35 mm² for ferrule in DCU).
Each RRH should be supplied by the power plan directly, see the Site
Specification dedicated to the RRH for the breaker value site and for all
information to installation.

3.3.5 Grounding Indication
For common bounding network (CBN), the PCM screens cable and
pairs are connected to the GND on both sides (equipment and DDF
sides).
There are two major cases for the connection to the PCM link:
• The telecommunication network is 120 Ω E1, in that case the only
equipment necessary to ensure the PCM connection between the DF
and the NodeB is the PCM cable. Standard is 16 m length.
• The telecommunication network is E1 75 Ω, in that case, as the
NodeB operates in 120ohms, an impedance adaptation is required.
The PCM cable should be equipped with additional mini-baluns male,
according to the Distribution Frame connectors type.

Preliminary
If TMA is employed, as it is supplied in DC voltage thanks to its RF
cables and in order to avoid short circuit between the inner and outer
connector of feeder, the BTS site should be equipped with a specific
surge arrester such as "gas tube arrester" . It is not part of the product.

antenna system, it is made of 2 independent sub-assemblies:
• A pole fixing system providing securing to the mast designed for
one-man easy-installation requirements, compatible with pole
diameters between 40 and 120 mm for TMA AISG Version 2100
MHz.
• A wall fixing system.
TMA AISG 192mm (7.5 in) 154mm (6 in) 50mm (2 in) 3.5kg (7.7 Ib.)
The external connections are located at the bottom and top of the TMA
module, the RF connectors are standard male 7/16.
For further information about the TMA, refer to the following IM:
• IM 08-6304 UMTS Instruction for Installation of 2100MHz Double
TMA AISG concerning the TMA 2100MHz AISG Version.(ROHS
compliant)
LPPCM has a function that protects devices from excessive voltage &
current caused by power induction, lightning, etc.
Preliminary
The External Alarm Module (IEAM) Kit is proposed to provide the
connection of 16 external alarms and 6 remote controls and their
protection against electrical perturbations that could occur between the
MBO and the customer equipment.
This external alarm module required 1U and is located under the 9326
d2U, horizontally position.
Regarding the remote control, when the contact is closed, the maximum
current is 150 mA and the serial resistor is 10 Ohms. When the contact
is open, the maximum switching voltage is 60V.

•The CCU controls one or several RCU. It provides the power for the
connected devices (RCU) and handles alarming.
Some alarms coming from the CCU are transmitted via IEAM module.
Other kits constituting the global RET system (TMA AISG, RCU) are
ordering in ship loose.

The 7705 SAR-F is a service access router that has a fixed hardware
configuration. The 7705 SAR-F has one circuit board that supports all
functions of the router, including control and switching, T1/E1
interfaces, Ethernet interfaces, as well as indicator LEDs and connectors
Preliminary
for node management, external synchronization, and external alarms.

the chassis ground connection. There are no back panel connections.
The chassis includes fans for cooling the router and a dual terminal
block for redundant DC power inputs.
Specification:
Rated voltage (DC): -48/-60 VDC (-60 VDC is for various European
countries) or +24 VDC
