Cybersafety Day (Suggested Lessons by Grade Levels) : Internet
SaferInternet Day is an international event organized to "promote safe and more responsible use of
online technology and mobile devices; especially among children and young people..." The 2018
theme is "Create, connect and share respect: A better Internet starts with you." DeKalb County
School District will kickoff a celebration of Internet safety on February 6, 2018 and the district's
second annual CyberSafety Day will be held on February 23, 2018. We are asking every school to
incorporate the delivery of Internet safety into their lesson plans. Schools will have until February 28,
2018 to complete this task and the confirmation form.
In the table below, you will find suggested grade level appropriate lessons from Common Sense
Media and NetSmartz (the curriculum resources for digital literacy and citizenship in our school
district). Locate your grade and the lesson plan for your grade level. Review the content well in
advance and gather your supplies.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact your regional Instructional
Technology Specialist or a member of your school's Digital Learning Team.
