ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
• Hi, I’m Elizabeth! The creator and instructor of “The Basics of Tarot: Reading & Writing The Modern Way”. I was born,
raised and currently living in the lower mainland of Greater Vancouver, BC Canada. I am an certified Esthetician in
British Columbia, Canada, a self-published writer, artist, an empath, clairvoyant, blue ray twin flame, and a tarot/oracle
card reader.
• I always wanted to become a writer, even before I learned how to spell. I was most likely the only kid in the class who was excited
when the time came to learn how to handwrite. I even have a note on a report card, from a teacher in elementary school, saying that
it looked like I enjoyed creative writing; that statement still remains to be true.
• In my preteens, I studied song lyrics. I wanted to be a song writer and a musician but singing wasn’t my forte and my parents weren’t

able to send me for lessons. By the age of thirteen, I composed my first sample of creative writing a short story. I was inspired and
wrote the similar theme of the movie, “Dances With Wolves”. I was told by a teacher at school, the first book I should write is a

biography. Between you and I, I still have to write that biography! A few years following, I began writing song lyrics, poetry, and

greeting cards. Every free chance I had in high school, while waiting for the bell to ring, I would write. Writing was my true passion. It
helps me express my feelings.
• In 1997, I was diagnosed with a hemorrhage in my left eye that left me permanently blind. No matter who said what to me, I never
allowed them to discourage my heart and soul’s passion to write. The more others would try to hinder me from my path, the more I
would prove myself. I would write, and write and write! I created a book of a collection of poetry and song lyrics, self-published, and
printed a limited edition, gifting my books to friends and family.
• In 2002, I completed a seven month Esthetics Program, worked a short while in the industry but that field wasn’t suited for me.
CONTINUATION ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR…
In 2009, I experienced my first spiritual awakening; the dark night of the soul. I won’t get into too much details for personal
reasons. All I can say is I felt like a lost soul, trying to find myself all over again. I became more clairvoyant, as well as a medium. I
was able to hear messages from those who passed over. I was noticing repeated numbers known as angel numbers, as well as
words and phrases that were synchronized. I thought I was going crazy but it was all part of a spiritual awakening. I took a break
from writing as I was putting myself together again.
In 2010, I volunteered at a elementary school library for two years, and that was where I was inspired to write children’s books. I
wrote a four book series that was based on my family’s dog. It was a family project. I self-published and sold copies to well
known organizations, however I had to discontinue with my home business due to the fact I fractured my leg.

In 2014, I had my second spiritual awakening. I kept having repeated dreams of a person. I read somewhere when that occurs it
means you have unfinished business and should reconnect with that person. Well, one morning I had a vivid dream of a shadow

person and again another dream of that same person. I finally reconnected. I went through an awakening finding out this person
was my twin flame. To make a long story short, my spiritual gifts became stronger. My spiritual beliefs have changed. I became a

new person. I became interested in tarot readings, even though I had a bit of fear towards them. I then bought my own deck and
have done readings on myself as well as for friends and family.
Today, in 2018, I am now planning to have my own business again of online tarot readings. I offer written out readings on my
Facebook Group and other like-minded groups, and I post blogs as well on my personal site.
When I am not doing tarot or writing, I like to draw, paint, do arts and crafts, meditate, being out in nature. I like to cook, learn
new things and I love animals.

their spiritual journey of using Tarot. There are so many resources online to broaden your education on Tarot, spirituality and business
plans. I never thought of becoming an instructor. Originally, I wanted to create a course for just creative writing but since I have been
doing tarot and becoming a better writer when it comes to my readings, I decided it would be a great idea to create a course. There’s
nothing more than I enjoy than writing and helping people with clarifying a situation in their life. I have so much integrity and compassion

Also, to begin using or reading tarot and you feel a bit of fear, the best advice is when you are ready, purchase an Angel Card Deck by
Doreen Virtue. That was actually the first tarot deck I used. I felt safe. The fear came from me and thoughts others brought on to me. As
long you ground yourself, visualize a white light and say a prayer to God and the spirit of the highest good, you are safe and protected.
You may also use crystals, gems and stones during your readings. Each color and type of crystal or gem holds special meaning for a
specific reason, such as for love or protection.
I really hope this course helps and answers some of your questions related to Tarot. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to

WRITING FOR A GENERAL READING
• You currently have the knowledge to build a foundation in your life. You are exactly where you are
supposed to be. There is a positive outcome, however you are unable to see this for the fact you are

HOW TO PICK A CARD
Before you begin, remember to follow the steps before you proceed with your reading, even if it’s for
yourself. Knock three times on the deck to clear the energy and start shuffling. You can also separate the
decks in half, and in half again. If a card falls out, put it to the side; It’s part of your reading. Continue to
shuffle until you feel the need to stop or you feel tired of shuffling. You can also ask your guides to tell you
to stop, or if you’re reading for someone tell them to say “Stop!” when they feel guided to. Another way of
picking a pick is laying the cards on a table and pick a card that you or your clients are drawn to.

Where to Do Readings?

• There are several places to do readings. You can first start by offering free readings to
friends, family, neighbours, Facebook Groups, Local Events, Etsy, Purple Ocean, some
coffee shops and parties.

Marketing:

• The same applies to marketing. You can also post an ad in the newspaper, your
laundry facility if you live in an apartment (Get permission first by the building
manager).

any related skills or qualifications, work experiences. Make it fun! Add your hobbies

from. Some people work with crystal healing with crystals, gems and stones. I haven’t
yet worked with crystals myself but I know they aid with psychic development,
protection, health and so on. It would be a good idea to do more research in this area if
you are interested.

mind’s eye, also known as the third eye chakra. Put your hand (the one you don’t write with) on each of

To conclude the basics of a tarot reading and writing the modern way is included in the lectures of this course. Section one includes
the introduction about the instructor; a biography of Elizabeth’s overall life and how she was first inspired to write and how she
became interested in Tarot. She encourages others to follow their dreams and don’t allow others hinder your path even though the
universe throws obstacles along your path; those obstacles are there for a reason and you have to find your way around them and
continue along your path.

Section two is about Tarot and what it is, the benefits of meditation and procedures to follow before proceeding with a reading.

follow the steps and ask a question out loud or to themselves. There are a few ways to pick them but the main way is to follow your

In section six, the lecture is a special reading for you, using your intuition to pick a card. In section seven, is if you like to keep in
touch and practice your tarot readings with other students or questioners, receiving insights and review others work by giving
positive feedback on how to improve the individuals messages to the questioner.
