Nutrition Counselor June 2017 – Present
● Conducts Nutrition Risk Assessments to assess nutritional needs for each participant category, of which
includes pregnant/ postpartum/breastfeeding women, infants, toddlers, and older children.
● Completes all work responsibilities in both Spanish and English, including nutrition education classes.
● Performs hematological testing and takes anthropometric measurements to access general health of participant
● Refers WIC participants with medical conditions (e.g., mastitis, low hemoglobin values, and self-reported
symptoms or illnesses) to appropriate health care provides.
● Provides patient referrals to other health care services, social service agencies, food and community programs.
● Consults often with doctors and other healthcare providers about participant special formula or dietary needs.
● Uses Nutrition Care Counseling skills to be able to encourage families to set and accomplish nutrition goals.

● Performed diet recalls for research patients and entered information into the Nutrition Data System for Research
(NDSR) program in order to assist dietitians with diet analysis.
● Collected and reported anthropometric measurements of bariatric research patients to research coordinators.
● Prepared meals and metabolic formulas for patients with genetic metabolic disorders per specific orders of
genetic dietitians.

planning, budgeting, and money handling.  
o Used skills learned from Food Service Operations class to create a menu of 6 meals over a 2-day period for 
50 people using an adjusted recipe cost spreadsheet.  
o Directed and organized a kitchen team to buy ingredients, prepare, cook, and serve meals.  
● Assisted in preparing and organizing food oriented events (e.g., pancake night, cookouts) for 100+ students.
