The following two (2) issues may occur on BladeCenter S, Type 8886, with two (2) IBM BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller
Modules, option 43W3584 (Field Replaceable Unit 43W3630), running Advanced Management Module code 50c or 50g:

1. In Storage Configuration Manager (SCM), the zone configuration will constantly display the following message:

  I/O Module is discovering zone information

2. Under the I/O Module Configuration page, the Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) switch will only show half of the RSSM configuration.

Affected configurations

The system may be any of the following IBM servers:

• BladeCenter S, type 8886, any model

The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM options:

• BladeCenter Advanced Management Module, option 25R5778, replacement part number 25R5777

• IBM BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module, option 43W3584, replacement part number 43W3630

This tip is not software specific.

The 50c and 50g firmware for the AMM is affected.

The system has the symptom described above.

Customers should update the AMM code to version 50k or later.
