Course Objectives:
This course is designed to make the students aware of the tax laws of India.
Understanding the tax laws and use it for tax planning is the basic objective of the course.
The course is designed so that the students are aware of what is income and when it gets taxed
The course also provides students with knowledge the difference between tax avoidance and tax planning.
Pre-requisites: Students should be aware of the role of taxation in determining the cost of capital. This course will be a step above Financial Management
where they will learn the use of taxation to cut the cost of capital. The main objective of the course is to give an understanding of income tax laws in
India and be able to do tax planning.
The basic objective of the course is to equip the students with the understanding taxation laws in India. The course is covered by adopting a combination of
lecture methods, class presentation by groups of students, self study sessions. Case studies will be taken up to illustrate real life situations.
