Universal Design for Learning (UDL):
Students can access information about each leader from countless resources to make sure they get the
information they need. BrainPop has a Spanish feature, so if any ESL are present they can use this as well.
Working in groups will allow the students to collaborate and learn more information.

Lesson idea implementation:
The teacher will lead a discussion of each of the leaders, and have students share facts that the students think
they know about the constitution, who wrote it, and why. The BrainPop video will be played to show the
importance of the leaders who created the constitution. After watching the video, students will divide into 6
groups, two groups for each leader. Each group will create a visual aid of their choice to share the information
they have found from different tools such as the library, internet research, and use of their textbook. Students
can also access BrainPop to learn more information on each person. Once each group is done, they will meet with
the other group who had the same leader as them, and create the visual aid together to share with the class.
A rubric will be used to support the students as they design their visual aid. Student should share
information on the leader, but they also need to include how they are important to the creation of the
constitution. At the end of the presentations, students will login in to BrainPop again and will take a quiz created
by teacher ensure they understand the information presented and taught.

Reflective Practice:
To extend this, we could share the students project on a public site to share with other schools around or to
share with the parents and family of the students. This would encourage students to do their best work, so they
can be proud of what they are sharing with others.
