Morocco

Morocco is the 68th largest export economy in the world and the 103rd most
complex economy according to the Economic Complexity Index (ECI). Last year,
Morocco exported $27.8B and imported $44.9B, resulting in a negative trade
balance of $17.1B
Its top imports are Refined Petroleum ($3.63B), Crude Petroleum ($2.93B),
Petroleum Gas ($2.21B), Cars ($1.64B) and Wheat ($1.42B). The top import
origins are Spain ($6.15B), France ($5.84B), China ($3.51B), the United States
($3.14B) and Germany ($2.38B).
Last Year Morocco imported $44.9B, making it the 54th largest importer in the
world. During the last five years the imports of Morocco have increased at an
annualized rate of 7.1%, from $31.9B in 2009 to $44.9B in 2014. The most recent
imports are led by Refined Petroleum which represent 8.09% of the total imports
of Morocco, followed by Crude Petroleum, which account for 6.53%.
Ecuador exports to Morocco prawns, shrimp, bananas, canned fish, canned hearts
of Palm, hake and roses, while Ecuador imported from Morocco, parts of
footwear, mainly soles and lugged rubber and plastic, mineral or chemical
fertilisers, doors, frames and casings, carpet.
