Hi Dear _____________________

Summers are here in all its glory. And if summers are here holidays can’t
be too far behind. It’s time to enjoy your vacations with family and friends. It
is also time to learn new things from your surroundings and experiences.
Explore new places, listen to stories, try new skills, draw and colour, play
both indoor and outdoor games and keep yourself fit. We wish you an
enjoyable and fun packed summer break from May15th, 2015.
We will meet again after the vacation on 29th June, 2015. Remember
to bring along your Holiday Activity Folder.

Tips to remember

1. Try and do the Holiday homework yourself. You may take help from
your parents for doing project activities.
2. Do colouring with proper strokes.
3. Create family reading time with your parents.
4. Explore your creative side – be it art, music or dance.
5. You are growing up, try to be more independent. Take responsibility for
yourself. e.g. After eating keep your plate yourself in the sink.
6. Keep your room clean- toys and books should be organized.
7. Practice hygiene.
8. Remember to converse in English with family and friends.
9. Be polite while speaking and talk softly.
10.Play some outdoor games in the early morning and cool evening
hours.
11. Practice walking on a straight line drawn on the floor.

12. We can also balance a bean bag while walking on the drawn line.

PAPER CRAFT
Skill: Fine motor skills

Learning Objective: Develop and strengthen finger muscles and pincer


grip.

1. PAPER CRUSHING BALLS


Make 10 big balls and 10 small balls with crepe paper /newspaper/
old magazine.

2. STREAMER
Take A-4 size sheet of fluorescent paper /newspaper / old magazine

Hold the sheet from one end, tear them into long strips.

Make 20 streamers.

Now paste these streamers on a double sheet of a newspaper with at
least 1 inch gap in between.

Bring them to school in a paper bag. Label the bag with your name, class
and section.
PATTERN WRITING
Skill: Language skill
Learning Objective: Development of eye-hand coordination and pre-
writing skills.
Estimated Time: 20 min

Practice patterns (standing lines, sleeping lines, slanting lines, circles


& semi-circles) and letters L, H, T, E, F & I in a ½ inch big square
note book.

Practice two lines of each pattern every day.

Label your note book with the help of your parents ( name, class and
section) Bring your note book to school

NUMBER DICE
1. Cut a cardboard as shown in the picture.
2. Tape or glue all six sides of the cube together. Ensure that each side is
of 5 inch length.
3. Your six sided cube is ready for making the dice.
4. Now you may paste or write numbers from 1 to 6
5. Use big bindis or stickers of any shape to show the number value on the
dice.

COOL FRUITY DELIGHT

This summer, beat the heat with Cool Fruity Delight. Take Mummy’s help
to prepare a super simple, delicious and healthy dessert.

Ingredients:

Chopped fruits - apple, mango, banana,


grapes, watermelon, papaya

Syrup - strawberry/ orange

Crushed dry fruits like almonds, cashew nuts

Vanilla Ice cream

Method:

Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a dessert bowl.

Now,add your choice of chopped fruits to the bowl.

Top it with orange or strawberry syrup.

Finally, garnish with crushed dry fruits.

Your Cool Fruity Delight is ready to be served.

Get a selfie clicked while you adorn your chef cap.

MY SUMMER SUNNY FOLDER


Take a sheet of hand-made paper, 32cm X 44cm of any colour.
Fold the sheet into half.
For decorating the cover page, a picture of All About My Summer is
given on the next page.
Explore your creativity to make your folder look unique.
There are no rules, so let your imaginations flow free and make your
folder look attractive and colourful.
Cut and paste the label given below mentioning your Name, Class
and section on the front of the folder. Paste a picture of yours on that
too.
Name the folder: MY SUMMER SUNNY FOLDER.
Open the folder now.
To make a pocket, cut handmade sheet of paper, 16 cm X 22 cm.
Put glue on 3 sides leaving the upper side of the paper.
Paste it on the lower left hand side of the folder. Your pocket is ready
to keep all the craft work and activity sheets.
Request your parents to punch holes in the activity sheets. Use a
ribbon to neatly tie them in the folder.
Remember to write your name on all your craft work.
