The New Capital Combined Cycle Power Plant (SGT5-8000H 2x1) consists of four units each
comprising two gas turbines (GT) with generators and two coupled triple pressure HRSG and one
steam turbine (ST) with an Air Cooled Condenser (ACC).
The high-temperature GT is fired with natural gas and two GTs (2 out of 8GTs) could be operated
with oil for a limited period of time with oil as back up fuel.
The HRSG is designed as vertical triple pressure steam generator with reheat. LP and IP stages
are designed as natural circulation drum boiler and the HP stage is designed as once through
boiler (Benson).
At HRSG design point (EG1020-EN PTEC PP-A03 015) the different drums operate at the
following pressure stages:
The target of the chemical treatment is to protect all components within the steam water cycle and
the auxiliary systems against corrosion and deposits and so not to affect the plant efficiency. To
accomplish this purpose it is essential to control the water chemistry within the recommended
values.
