Purpose: Our purpose will be to pursue the ideas of liberty, justice, and freedom for all
regardless of race, religion, or sex. We shall pursue these ideas through support of the
Democratic Party and the ideals and candidates it supports. With these thoughts we establish
this
constitution.
ARTICLE I: Name and Affiliation
Section 1: Name
The name of this organization shall be the Calhoun County High School Democrats.
Section 2: Affiliation
High School Democrats of Calhoun County will be chartered with, and affiliated with
the Alabama High School Democrats of America.
ARTICLE II: Membership
Section 1: Membership
Membership requirements for the Calhoun County High School Democrats will be as
follows:
1(a): Must be a student currently enrolled in high school or will have left or entered high
school within 3 months.
Section 2: Discrimination
Membership will not be affected by but not limited to race, color, national origin, sex, sexual
orientation, or physical disability.
ARTICLE III: Executive Board
Section 1: Executive Board
The High School Democrats of Calhoun County Executive Board will be the chief
policy making body for the chapter under the supervision of the High School Democrats of
America Executive Board. The Executive Board will meet no less than ten (10) times during the
course of one (1) fiscal year and once during each month of the schools calendar year.
Section 2: Composition
The Executive Board shall be composed of the following voting members. No person may serve
on the Executive Board in any capacity if they have been out of high school for more than three
(3) months.
