Haley Borchers Snake Charmer lesson plan Leaming theory: 1 think that Gordon’s Music Leaming Theory can relate to my lesson. It has two parts, audition and whole-part-whole. They are using audiation when during my turn, your turn. They are listening to the different rhythms, notes, and articulations that I play, and imitating them and applying them to the music. They are whole-part-whole, when they lear different concepts within the song and then playing the whole song applying all of the concepts. a . Materials needed: instruments, essential elements book, whiteboard 3. 2. s Time needed: 8-9 minutes Learning objective: The students will learn how to play The Snake Charmer correctly, demonstrating the ritardando and fermata at the end. . Assessment: The students will play The Snake Charmer correctly incorporating the ritardando and fermata. . Personal Objective: I will focus on giving specific directions and feedback using fewer words. . Procedures: a) Welcome Class b) Play aconcert D, have them listen. ) Their tum, have them match pitch with their neighbors. 4) My tur, your tur, starting on concert D Music Learning Theory: they are listening to me and then applying the things they hear to their playing. © Play different quarter note and eighth note patterns that are in the song. © Play different notes © Have them listen to my articulation and play two articulated notes then two slurred notes and the opposite. ¢) Iplay through the song with them fingering along. Tell them to listen for the slurs. Have them play through again telling them to breathe together on beat three. Give feedback Point to meaning of ritardando and fermata on the board and tell them to watch me. Music Learning Theory: am teaching them a part of what is in the Piece. Have them play through again (with me conducting) watching me for the rit. and fermata, Music learning theory: they are taking the individual things the learned and incorporating it into the music.
