Proposal writing.

Comparative study on knowledge, attitude and practice of participants before and after workshop on
good editorial practice.

1. Introduction

Editors play an important role in good article selection in medical journal. Choosing a good article
depends on qualities of the forwarded article. Different aspects of article from topic selection, study
design, format, referencing etc. can make a difference. Journal from underpriviledged countries like
Nepal and India are notorious for selection of article that are poor in content and selection. The role of
poor editing of articles is a major issue. Providing Training to editors by conducting a workshop,so that
editors can be self aware on these issues can be helpful.

2. Objectives
a.To evaluate the knowledge,attitude and practice on good editorial practise among editors.
b.To compare the change in knowledge on good editorial practice among editors after training.

3. Methods

A descriptive crosssectional study with a set of questionnaire accessing Knowledge, attitude and
practice before and after training was given to participants. Different individuals with experience in
article edition in different journals were included.Only those who gave consent were included in this
study. The data was analysed by using SPSS version x.

4. Participant criteria: Participant will have to attend every day of training course.

5. Expected outcome: Change in knowledge, attitude and practice in the participants is expected.
