Questionnaire
1) Explain in brief the working and application of following:
a. No return valve.
b. Solenoid valve.
c. Bearings
2) A) Stall Torque of a DC motor (no gear box) = 0.325 Nm, and No Load angular velocity of its shaft
is 600rpm. It has to rotate an arm of 30 cm length with a load of 0.5 kg acting on the other
extreme end. Calculate its angular velocity when operated at rated voltage and current. (Hint:
Search for Torque vs RPM for a dc motor).

B) Do the same calculation for the same DC motor with gear ratio 11:1.

Assume and mention whatever needed.

3) Differentiate between holonomic and differential drive.

4) Explain the working and use of:
a. Proximity Sensors
b. Accelerometer
c. Relay
5) Explain the difference between analog read/write and digital read/write in Arduino
microcontroller.
6) Compare:
a. Lead-Acid Battery
b. Lithium-ion Battery
c. Lithium Polymer Battery

Compare on basis of reliability and efficiency.

7) Consider 2 parallel wall like below and the robot has to start from one end (S) and reach the
another (E). What sensors will you use and write an algorithm on how will the robot go from one
end to another.
