What should be done?

- Cancellation of contract from those vendors who are not giving wages as per the minimum
wage rates fixed by the state government under the Minimum Wage Act 1948.
- Awarding some non-monetary benefits to contract employees which help in lowering down
agitation level of employees. This will not increase cost burden in the organisation.
- Communicating the importance of performance based culture in the organisation. Informing
its benefits to employees and how it will help in the growth of employees. ( Here employees
are both core and contract employees)
- HR department should meet contract employees (members of trade union) on monthly basis
so that the problems faced by both management and contract employees can be discussed.
Through this step, organisation can try to minimize problems which are there between top
management and contract employees.
