Conclusion

Based on the results of our fieldwork which is laying of a parabolic curve

using transit and tape, I therefore conclude that familiarizing with the elements of
the vertical curves was done due the formulas produced and due to its significance
for solving other elements in the parabolic curves. I also conclude that by using
tangent offset method, parabolic curve can be laid through the computed values of
tangent offsets in each station.
For this fieldwork, our group doesn’t encountered errors because perfoming
this fieldwork is easy. And we finished it early. I recommend to check the
instruments if it is in good condition so that your group will not be responsible if it
is already broken. Borrow equipments early to prevent running out of stock and
start early so you have plenty of time in case you need to repeat the fieldwork.
There are many uses for vertical curves, for example in our country there are
many bridges and that is an example of the application of vertical parabolic curves.
Another is the underpass near the Manila City Hall, we use that almost everyday,
and if it weren’t for our knowledge in vertical curves we wouldn’t have it. All of
those examples I’ve given are safe to use because of the knowledge in vertical
curves.
