RALLY DAY PRESENTATION
 THE NICENE CREED
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in our Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the virgin, Mary, and was made
human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;

Today is Rally Day. Please join us after worship service for
an ice cream social. We will meet in the social hall.
Sunday School for all ages begins next Sunday, September
19th after worship at 11:30-12:15pm. Adult Sunday School in
the youth lounge will be studying the Holy Spirit. A
workbook will soon be available.
Ladies’ Bible Study will be studying the Book of Philippians.
Join us tomorrow, September 13th at 10am for the
Introduction. Bring a friend and all your questions! Let’s
learn and fellowship together. We meet in the upstairs
lounge and everyone is welcome.
Ladies’ Luncheon - Tomorrow September 13th, 12 noon, at
Mama Mia’s in Salem. For more information or to RSVP
please contact Judy Gardner (358-7431).
Why not make a day of it and join us for both the Bible
study and the lunch?
Join us for a prayer meeting this Friday, September 17th at
7:30 pm to pray for Tuesday Nights Together and the rest
of our Fall Ministry opportunities. We will meet at Pastor
Julia’s home. Please make it a point to continue to pray for
refreshment and revival within our congregation and
community. We have set aside the week of September 17-
24th to specifically pray for our new ministry opportunities.
Mission Team and Congregational Life will both meet on
September 20th at 7:30pm. If you would like to join either
of these committees please come out and bring your ideas.

Annual Fall Retreat: Join us as we take some time away in
the midst of our busy schedules to renew our walk with the
Lord and our relationships with one another. Our Fall
Retreat this year is scheduled for October 22nd-24th at
the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn in Bird-in-Hand, PA. We
will be learning about the “plain” life and living with
straightforward faith in a complicated world. The final
payment of $150 per adult (less deposits paid) will be due
today. See Bob Moore to sign up and with questions.
We welcome back Margaret today and once again thank
Harold Ware for filling in for her on the organ. It is also
great to have our choir returning today and Sunday School
starting up next week!
The flowers this morning are given in loving memory of
Mildred & Clayton Lackey by Joyce Guiliano.
Substitute teachers for Sunday School are needed for
the Fall. Please let the office know if you would be willing
to have your name placed on a substitute list.
Update for Children’s Church
We have not had many responses to our call for children
church’s helpers this summer, thus we have not been able to
offer it every week. Remember what it was like when your
child was young and full of energy? Sitting through the
worship service is difficult for little ones. Having a Christ-
centered activity can make a huge difference for both
parents and their children. Thank you in advance for making
this important ministry possible. Helpers will also be needed
for the Fall. Materials are provided. There is a sign up
sheet in the narthex.
Time of Prayer: On Communion Sundays, the Elders and
Pastor Julia will be available at the front of the church, to
pray for anyone in need. Feel free after the benediction to
come forward and seek prayers and healing for yourself or
come as an intercession for someone else. You may share
any prayer concerns with us…prayers including physical
healing, spiritual struggles, tangible needs, etc. You might
also want to share a testimony of thanksgiving for something
God is doing in your life. You may also request to be
anointed with oil.

and our Kids’ Klub will be based on a Christian scouting
program called Pioneers Club where they earn badges for

There is now a sign up sheet located in the narthex for
anyone who is willing and able to prepare a light meal for
one Tuesday Night Together.
Congratulations to Lisa Quirk and Todd Fisher who were
married on September 7th.
The Mission of the Month for September is Ministries in
Africa. The missionaries that we support in Africa
include Joanna Beske in Senegal with Pioneers, The
Newell family in Nairobi, Kenya and Denise Hoover who is
in Chad. Please keep all of these ministries in your prayers.
If you are interested in writing to one of our missionaries
please let a member of the Mission Team know and we will
give you their contact information.

Join us for a prayer time every Sunday morning in the youth

lounge before church at 9:20am. We pray for what will
happen in our worship and ask the Lord to send his Holy
Spirit upon us. Please join us in praying for revival and
renewal in our lives, our church and our land.

There are 8 assisted listening devices available for people to

better hear the worship service. They are located in a
basket in the narthex. Please return the devices to the
basket at the conclusion of worship. If you look for a device
and they are all taken please let the office know. We want to
have enough available for everyone who needs one. CD
copies of our worship service are available every Sunday in
the narthex.
